Stuart Maue will be attending the Spring Meeting for the American Bankruptcy Institute, April 24-27, 2014 in Washington, D.C. The meeting brings together a combination of well-known bankruptcy judges, top insolvency professionals, and bankruptcy practitioners who will tackle provoking issues in a series of panels.

John Theil will be attending for Stuart Maue. Mr. Theil is the lead attorney in Stuart Maue’s bankruptcy group, managing the audit process performed by Stuart Maue attorneys and accountants. He is responsible for all preliminary and final reports issued and filed by Stuart Maue, as Fee Examiner. Prior to joining Stuart Maue, John practiced complex commercial litigation for 12 years, which included representing Debtors in Chapter 11 cases.

Kathryn Hough is an Attorney and a Program Manager with 14 years of experience in both providing and managing legal services. As a Program Manager for Stuart Maue, Kathryn supervises the operation of legal compliance programs that analyze over $40 million of annual legal expenditure. Kathryn provides consultant services to Stuart Maue’s clients regarding litigation analytics and assists in the development and implementation of legal cost management programs and billing guidelines. She also performs retroactive audits of legal fees and expenses for corporations, insurance companies, and bankruptcy courts. Kathryn obtained her Juris Doctorate from Washington University School of Law and is admitted to practice law in Missouri and Illinois.

Stuart Maue announced today that the firm has been appointed as Fee Examiner to act as a special consultant to the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware for professional fee and expense analysis and review in the Revstone Industries, LLC Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

As Fee Examiner, Stuart Maue will analyze fee applications (including the underlying fee and expense entries) submitted by case professionals. The examination will include identifying and quantifying costs that do not comply with the Bankruptcy Court’s rules and guidelines, the Judge’s prior fee decisions, and any other applicable terms or instructions. For each fee application, Stuart Maue will provide the Court with a detailed report of findings and recommendations.

The CLM Claims College educates claims professionals so they can do their current jobs better and gain the knowledge they need to advance their careers. College Faculty includes senior level leaders from both insurance companies and major corporations.
