John Theil, lead attorney in Stuart Maue’s bankruptcy group, will be speaking at the Spring Meeting for the American Bankruptcy Institute, April 14-17, 2016 in Washington, D.C. The annual meeting brings together a combination of well-known bankruptcy judges, top insolvency professionals, and bankruptcy practitioners who will tackle provoking issues in a series of panels.
John Theil will be one of five speakers for the panel presentation, “A Primer on Dealing with Fee Examiners.” This panel, which features leading fee examiners from throughout the country, will discuss the ins and outs of fee examiner interactions. The moderator and other speakers include: Van C. Durrer II (Skadden, Arps, Slate, Megher & Flom LLP), William K. Harrington (Office of the U.S. Trustee), Robert J. Keach (Bernstein Shur), and Professor Nancy Rapoport (University of Nevada William S. Boyd School of Law).
John F. Theil is the lead attorney over the Bankruptcy Group at Stuart Maue, which has been an active Fee Examiner for the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts since 1992. Mr. Theil, a former U.S. Marine, has over 12 years of sophisticated bankruptcy and commercial litigation experience. He directs the company’s role as fee examiner or similar roles in complex Chapter 11 cases. Some exemplary cases are: Tribune, Revstone Industries, DELTA Petroleum, Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, Kmart, Winn-Dixie, Montgomery Ward, AMR (American Airlines), and Motors Liquidation (GM).
