Achieving SAS-70 certification indicates that a service organization’s processes and control objectives have been evaluated by an independent auditor. SAS-70, or Statement on Auditing Standard, is one of the most stringent auditing standards for service organizations. Developed and maintained by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SAS-70 sets guidelines for auditors to use in order to objectively assess the internal controls of an organization.
